Beatmap ranking procedure

How a map submitted to somtum.fun becomes ranked. The steps are like osu!'s, but faster.

1. Submit

Submit your map from the editor in TumThai or osu!(stable) (see the submission rules). Mark it finished to make it pending; a work in progress isn't looked at.

A map from osu! that's in the graveyard there can also be opened for nominations by our Beatmap Nominators.

2. Get feedback and hype

Post your map's discussion page link on our Discord and ask for mods. Players can hype a pending map (each player has 3 hypes a week). A map needs 1 hype before it can be nominated.

3. Nominations

Two Beatmap Nominators need to nominate the map on its discussion page. They check it against the osu! ranking criteria. With 2 nominations, the map is qualified.

4. Qualified and ranked

A qualified map is ranked by itself after 1 day, as long as nobody finds a problem. If someone does, a nominator or the Nomination Assessment Team can disqualify it, and it goes back to pending until it's fixed and nominated again.

See the ranking queue for what's about to be ranked.

Becoming a Beatmap Nominator

Mappers and modders who know the ranking criteria well can apply to be a Beatmap Nominator on BN Management. Sign in there with your somtum.fun account and send an application for your game mode; the Nomination Assessment Team look at your mods and let you know. New BNs start as probationary members.

Loved

Maps that won't be ranked but that players enjoy can be Loved by Project Loved: they get leaderboards but give no pp. Project Loved takes new members in seasons. When one opens, we announce it in the news and on our Discord, so follow either to hear about it.
